Search Engine Optimization (SEO): what is it?

According to Ahrefs, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the practice of optimizing a website or webpage to increase the quantity and quality of its traffic from a search engine’s organic results.

Its is also a process of taking steps to help a website or piece of content rank higher on Google.

For example, when someone types “vegan lasagna” into Google, they’re likely looking for a recipe, ingredients, and instructions on how to make it. If you wrote an article about making vegan lasagna, you’d want people to find your recipe. For anyone to find it, you need to rank above all the other websites with recipes for vegan lasagna. It’s not easy, but that’s what SEO marketing is all about.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Elements of Search Engine Optimization:

1. On-Page SEO:

On-page optimization is the process of optimizing website content to increase visibility in search engines and improve a website’s ranking.

So on-page optimization ensures that all elements of the web page are properly optimized for better visibility and higher rankings in SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) which includes keyword research, meta tag creation, URL structure setup, heading tags, internal linking strategies, backlink analysis, etc.

2. Off-Page SEO:

Off-page optimization is the process of improving a website’s visibility, ranking, and authority on search engines by utilizing tactics that go beyond what can be done on the site itself. This includes link building, social media marketing, content promotion, and other activities that help to generate more online exposure for a website or business.

All of these off-page strategies work together to help improve the visibility of a website in organic (non-paid) search engine results pages (SERPs).

3. Technical SEO:

Technical SEO is all about improving the technical aspects of a website. In order to increase the ranking of its pages in the search engines result page (SERP). Making a website faster, easier to crawl, and more understandable for search engines are the pillars of technical optimization.

In simple words, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is about making websites show up better on search engines like Google. It’s like arranging a shop in a way that more people visit it. There are three important parts of SEO. First, On-Page SEO is about improving what’s on the website, like using the right words and links. Second, Off-Page SEO means getting other places to talk about the website, like friends telling others about the shop. Lastly, Technical SEO is about fixing the technical things on the website, so it’s easier for search engines to understand. All of these parts work together to help websites become more popular and easier to find online.
